Employers Need To Use Common Sense, Not Modern HR Policies
I'm sorry, but the hiring process is broken and companies are too stupid to do anything about it.
I really don’t want to hear anyone tell me that “no one wants to work anymore”. After sending dozens of applications and buying over $50 in connects for Upwork, I’m still having a hard time finding work. It’s not for a lack of trying.
Simply put, employers don’t want to hire anyone anymore—and when they do want to hire people, they don’t know what they are looking for. More often than not, they seem more keen on covering their asses over a bad hire than they are about getting someone capable.
We’re at a point where we have to admit that modern corporate hiring no longer makes sense.
Does anyone else feel like they are taking crazy pills when they see “entry level” jobs that require three to five years of experience? Or when they see people demand professional attire for a job that wouldn’t even allow them to afford a business suit?
Even with me, I’ve been struggling to find work. I’ve been featured on Yahoo, MSN, and other major publications. I run a successful blog. And yet, most companies will not hire me because I don’t fit the standard status quo.
What’s funny is that I know I’m not alone here. There are several key issues that seriously wreck great candidates’ chances at a good job.
