Ladies, You Should Text Dates Like A Sex Worker
A former sex worker explains a dating safety tip that started from their time as an escort.
Let’s jump back to my early 20s when I was an escort. I had just gotten out of the frying pan and I was looking to make fast money so that I could have a roof over my head.
One thing I’m thankful for is that I signed with an escort agency that was very protective of me. Unlike most agencies, they had a full training course that involved reading a book on what being a sex worker meant, how to stay safe, and what not to say.
There were a couple of rules we were never allowed to break, no matter how many times we saw a client:
The first was that you always do payments upfront.
The second is that you always call your safety call after each outing, and that you had to memorize your code word if police are there.
The third is that, if you have been asked to text a client, you text like a sex worker.
The older I get, the more I realize that texting like an escort is one of the smartest things single women can do when they’re playing the field.
Texting like a sex worker is a form of self-defense, primarily because police do not protect sex workers.
I’ve written about this before when it came to my close-ish scrape to the Gilgo Beach Killer’s doppleganger, but I’ll reiterate this. It’s a well-known fact that police do not care what happens to sex workers.
Sex workers are actively targeted by serial killers and rapists because the police will usually do nothing to help them. I don’t think people realize how little sex workers can rely on the police or the FBI.
Did you know that a sex worker’s murder is noted as “no humans involved?” It’s a legit note and it means that you’re so undesirable, your murder is basically a bottom-tier priority.
When you text like a sex worker, you are basically making sure that you can escape and ghost a person before you meet them. You are also using a psychological technique to prevent harassment.
