Let Me Tell You About The Time I Was Warned About Danny Masterson...
It was an open secret that something was very, very wrong with him.
So, after the major talk on Twitter’s Ask_Aubry, I felt like I need to talk about the whole Danny Masterson case. I’ll admit, I wrote that piece because it reminded me of some of the work I did when I was in my early 20s.
Most people know that I used to be a full-time model for a good portion of my twenties. (I know, I allegedly still look good, maybe, but I used to be a smokeshow back in the day.)
Being a model meant that I often worked with people who were in fashion, in TV, and yes, in the porn world as well. In my time in that industry, I’ve crossed paths with a lot of celebrities.
Eventually, I ended up hobnobbing with a lot of big names, even when I didn’t model full-time. I then started working on other media industry stuff. To give you an idea of the type of circles I’ve been in, I’ll name-drop a few people I’ve casually crossed paths with:
Tawanda Bell (“Sunshine” from Wilhelmina Models and DANI House. I worked at her nonprofit.)
Christian from America’s Next Model (I met him through Tawanda. Cool dude!)
Anna Alimani (She’s still a friend!)
Several major modeling agents
Several major movie producers, including Rick Schwartz, who was my boss for like two years
Tracy from Jerseylicious (I modeled at a runway show for her.)
A photographer linked to Beyonce Knowles who shot my first modeling set
Afrika Bambaataa, who I smoked pot with at a show
This does not include any of the DJs or porn stars that I hang out with, nor any of my porn connects. It’s one of those moments where I just have to be honest. The glitterati world is my crowd, even if I myself am not that glittery.
Needless to say, I ended up in a weird situation where a lot of stuff that makes news headlines can involve things I had knowledge about. With that said, there’s a lot to this case that felt a bit…personal for me.
