I woke up to an email that took me by surprise—Medium is now cutting off referral payouts. To a point, I shouldn’t be shocked. Medium’s Referral Program was very popular, but it had started to sunset in 2023.
What I wasn’t expecting is to find out that the payouts would eventually stop rather than just trickle out into oblivion. April’s the last month that creators like me will be collecting that cash.
So, what can we learn about this? What does this mean for Medium? Looks like we have a lot to discuss…
