Did you ever want to sit down and talk with one of the writers of your favorite TV shows? I often do—and this time around, I did! Mark Mars was part of the writing team for Aeon Flux, the classic 90s show on MTV.
The concept of the show was enigmatic, to say the least. It featured Trevor Goodchild, a villain who created a plague (and its cure) as a bid to gain control of a country. His prime obsession is the freelance assassin-spy, Aeon Flux.
There are so many questions I have about this series, which often leaves its world up to interpretation. Mark was so kind to answer a lot of this and also shock the daylights out of me with a major bomb he dropped about the creation of the show.
In my recent blog post about writing fiction, I mentioned I have a notebook dedicated to world-building. I was shocked to find out how long the “bible” for Aeon Flux was: about six to eight sheets long!
Learn about the creative process, hear some sick slam poetry, and learn about the inner feminist meaning of Aeon Flux.
