What People Don’t Understand About Rape Fantasies
It’s a tale as old as time, but why?
Did you know that a survey revealed that as many as 61 percent of women fantasized about being forced to have sex? Rape fetishism is one of the most common fantasies among women — and it’s also one of the most misunderstood and taboo.
Rape fantasies are often cited by the manosphere as a sign that women don’t care about consent. They are also brought up when men discuss what women want in an abusive “alpha male” relationship. Pseudoscience also suggests there’s a biological background to this.
But is all this true? Nope. Not in the least bit.
The truth is that rape fetishism often has a lot of context that people overlook. Learning to unpack the real background behind this kink is both fascinating and enlightening.
First, I want to point out that much of what I’m writing is theory — with one major exception.
The science behind understanding fetishes is still developing. Much of what scientists and psychologists believe has not been proven. It’s mostly theoretical.
However, there is one thing that is 100 percent true: women who have rape fantasies do not actually want to be raped IRL. These fantasies can be acted out in consensual non-consent, but the truth is that randomly raping a woman will not get you anywhere but a jail cell.
Consent is key. If you want to act out this fantasy, talk to her at length about what she does and doesn’t want. Now that I’ve gone over this disclaimer, let’s discuss the reasons why rape fantasies can happen.
