Why Aren’t Bloggers Talking About Mr. Beast And Ava Kris?
The biggest YouTuber just got some really nasty press about grooming, fraud, and CSA material.
Mr. Beast is one of the most famous YouTubers in American history. For a while, he seemed like he was about as G-rated as humanly possible. The guy’s reputation was squeaky clean.
He became popular for several reasons:
He has a young audience that he trained to view him as a know-it-all, awesome authority. Mr. Beast is famous for telling viewers how to behave. When they do as he tells them to, he rewards them — often with wild giveaways.
His online brand started with a heavy focus on philanthropy. He bought a ton of businesses and said that he would help donate profits to charity. His brands include Mr. Beast Burgers, Beast Bars, and PRIME sodas.
His call-to-actions are pretty heavy-handed. Yep. And that bodes poorly when his average viewers are in middle school and younger.
A lot of his fans think his videos are real and not staged. However, many of them are faked via CGI. This is not surprising to anyone over the age of 14. What I’m saying is that Mr. Beast is a brand that is very heavily trusted by kids.
Recently, Mr. Beast went under fire for allegedly rigging his competitions.
Mr. Beast made a huge amount of money and gained tons of fans thanks to his contests. His contests involved anything from getting major prizes from a purchase to doing videos.
According to an ex employee, he was rigging those contests. The employee pointed out that he faked some of his videos and also alleged that he was running illegal lotteries and fraudulent games.
The allegations also expanded into saying that people who benefit from his charity work really weren’t treated humanely. This included:
Getting kids to pay $10 to send an image to the moon, only for the rocket to “explode” with no refunds given.
Contests where rules would change from random giveaways to suddenly requiring merch purchases.
Rigging contests so that his friends and family members win them instead of legitimate winners.
Putting kids in dangerous situations to get paid.
Making elderly people sleep on a stadium floor and denying medications to people who were on his shows.
Maltreatment of animals, though this was an allegation made by a third party
Violence against women by men for his Amazon game show.
In other words, he was turning kids into gamblers, making contests no one could win, pocketing money from violence and hurting people who needed help.
