"Bimbo" wasn't always a slur against women. In the 1950s, Jim Reeves had a country music hit about a candy-addicted boy with that name. I assume the shift in the meaning came later.
Love your article. I took a class on being a Bimbo and learned a great deal from it! The presenter was intelligent, well spoken and absolutely gorgeous. She described different sorts of Bimbos - she was dressed as the 1950s pin up variety that night. And she was without any doubt a feminist. I believe that the feminist credo should be “You do you.”
Who you are, and who you feel happiest being, is what matters most in life. No one else has the right to tell you who you should be. An admirable and as ever brilliant piece of writing.
Great article! I agree the point should be about supporting everyone in the manner in which they seek to express their individuality.
Thank you so much!

Oh, yes...this is why I love you, Ossiana. Our understanding of feminism is so totally the same. 💜
The entire point of equality movements is the freedom to be oneself. (Also, just btw, you rock that look)
Who cares? Easy for a man to say, I know.
It is. When you are picked apart for wearing god-knows-what or even just LOOKING a certain way, it becomes way more powerful.
