I live in an area unlikely to face this (small town) but you never know. My husband is a permanent legal resident. His papers are 100 percent but who knows if they’ll respect that. I do not trust Trumpers.

Mine too, but he is an older Canadian, who hates going out in public since the trumpfestation. I don't trust trumpers either.

They dont target white people. So if he's white, you're most likely fine.

Yeah he is. He keeps mumbling "I'm just a guest here."

Wish this were true, truly but the experiences around the U.S. w/ Trumpers say otherwise. Just a bumper sticker on your car for Harris/Walz is ‘their’ cue to bash your windows in. Your age, skin color, your affiliations matters not. Their hatred is for anyone, not like them.

My husband was picked up during Obama and he came legally in 1964. They don't care.

Did he get out?

This is so important. Please also note that many people will be shipped out of state to detentions areas like in Arizona. You must put money in a telephone service that the detention service uses so that they can contact you. They cannot call collect. (Rule might have changed so check). It is expensive so check out a few. Many held will let someone new know all the rules and ways so theyll know about the phone. I live in CA. My husband was picked up (and he was legal) and shipped to Arizona. It took me over 2 weeks to find him. They don't make it easy.

JFC that's awful.

It was. We spent 9 years fighting it and used up all our savings. But we won.

I am soooo sorry!! It's absolutely ridiculous it took 2 weeks to find him and even more ridiculous that you had to use all of your savings to fight it for 9 freaking years when he was legal!! They should have had to reimburse you for every penny spent fighting this bogus BS along with lost wages and literally the trauma (pain & suffering)!! I can only JUST imagine. How awful!!Talk about PTSD!!

Your suggestion to carry the passport on us at all times is a good one and has led me to decide to get a *passport card* so that I can keep one on me and one in the safe.

Thank you for this information. My husband, a veteran and US citizen was stopped by ICE on his way to school in January 2017 and this was in the SF Bay Area. The ICE officer let him go, but he was late to class. Needless to say, it’s going to get worse.

Yep. Always keep papers on ya. BTW @LindaBlatnik has an amazing set of resources too.

Make sure you don't read the intro too closely.

Concerned citizens:

If you spot ICE in your vicinity, go to the kitchen grab a pot and large utensil.

Take them outside and start banging on that pot.

To be clear - it isn't a celebration - it's a warning system.

What about for children, what paperwork to keep handy? My spouse was born here, so birthright citizenship which could come into question. I dont trust that these policies won't extend out to purge the successive generations. I'm in a red area with plenty of folks that would love to get rid of anyone not white.

Is it okay to photograph the agents when they are on your property?

Ask a lawyer but definitely get a Ring camera if you're in a targeted area.

I like the fact you thought about this and write what you think may work.

As someone who has watched this *ish show before, there's no way would any of what you're suggesting be my first move.

But for those of you seeing this type of madness for the first time in your lifetime - Be safe.😐
